Traders back away from an October ether dip to $2,200
The dip contract fell 20 points in a day as traders priced a finish nearer $2,400.
In one line: Ether stays above $2,200 on Binance through 31 October, and a 20% price still overrates a late plunge.
Traders have pulled back from bets that ether falls to $2,200 this month. Polymarket's contract on that dip trades at 20%, down 20 points in the last 24 hours and 40 points below its seven-day high of 59% on 24 Oct. Over the seven days it is down 1 point, after touching a low of 12% on 21 Oct.
The contract pays Yes if any one-minute candle on Binance's ETH/USDT pair shows a low at or below $2,200 between midnight Eastern time on 1 Oct and 11:59pm on 31 Oct. The same event prices the upside. Traders put 70% on ether reaching $2,400 this month and 22% on $2,500. They give 2% or less to $2,800, $2,900 and $3,000.
Read together, the prices show traders expect ether to spend the rest of the month nearer $2,400 than $2,200. A 70% chance of a touch at $2,400 against 20% for a touch at $2,200 says traders see the coin closer to the higher line with 4 days left. The run to 59% on 24 Oct shows how fast a drop came into view, and the slide since shows traders judged that scare over.
Ether will not print a one-minute low at or below $2,200 on Binance before October ends, and a 20% price overstates the chance that it does. The event's own $2,400 contract at 70% places traders' expectations well above the strike. The best case for Yes is the rule itself: one brief wick on one exchange is enough, and the 24 Oct spike shows how quickly that threat can return. The call is wrong if any Binance ETH/USDT one-minute candle shows a low of $2,200 or less before 11:59pm Eastern on 31 Oct. For anyone holding ether, it means the month ends without the drop to $2,200 that traders feared on 24 Oct.
